ILYOSAPOUNO® OF MESSOLONGHI
NEW UNIQUE PRODUCT IN GREECE! COSMETIC SOAP WITH EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL AND HEALING MUD FROM MESSOLONGHI
EARTH, SEA AND 100% NATURAL INGREDIENTS, ALL THE GREEK NATURE IN ONE PRODUCT.
Soap with extra virgin olive oil and healing mud from the areas "Agia Triada" and "Finikia” of Messolonghi (place of rest and recreation for Lord Byron). The shallow waters at Finikia, a place near the Saltworks, have high salinity, resulting in the phenomenon of buoyancy for those who swim there. This particular region with the surrounding limestone rock, is located away from human activities, which sustains the virginity of the landscape. Also the region is protected with “Ramsar” convention as a wetland of international importance.
With the sole expense of our company we were conducted complete analysis of this thermal mud with methods like “inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)” and “X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF)”. The analysis showed low level of heavy metals (Hg, As, Pb, Cd, etc.) and plenty of valuable elements as sulphur compounds, organic compounds, strontium, boron, zinc, lithium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorusetc., known for their therapeutic / anti-irritant properties on human body.
The black healing mud is used as it is - without any processing in our soaps. The mud soap with extra virgin olive oil, honey and organic mentha / chamomile extracts or goat’s milk, makes exfoliation and deep cleansing and also detoxifies and rejuvenates the skin. Ideal for acne and removing of spots.
For many years are know the area of Messolonghi for spas and mud baths. The seawater in the region has increased salinity due to the microclimate of the area (and thus here developed the largest saltworks of Greece). Swimming in this water causes significant relief to aching muscles and joints.
Also due to these conditions and the appropriate landscaping of the lagoon formed substantial reserves of mature mud ( silt - clay : Agia Triada, Tourlida, Finikia ) . The transfer of appropriate sediments from adjacent mountains , in contact with salt water , made the substrate to create mud. The sediment materials are enriched with organic ingredients from rotting seaweed and involving microorganisms that converted the sediments in mature therapeutic mud.
The mud is black , homogeneous, with good plasticity and perfect affinity on the skin, elements that make it ready for application. The mud acts therapeutically simultaneously in three ways: thermal , mechanical and chemical. During the application due to the heat and texture creates local congestion , as well as excellent cleanliness and tender touch of skin. The black color is due to sulfides , which are important therapeutic component, because during the contact of the mud with the human skin react with skin’s acidic components and freeing sulphide ions. These, in turn, absorbed by the skin , treating dermatological diseases. Thus the chemical action is due to the abundance of metals and minerals that have identified palliative or curative properties. A clinical study that conducted in 2011 demonstrated the beneficial effect of curative mud patches to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis. Show detailed information about study here or here .
