Ryzes to Live!

The organic rice, “Ryzes” of Helession is a product of natural farming of a local variety in the plains of Central Hellas (Greece). Ryzes, Organic rice of Natural Farming

It is not a wooden replica of rice, but a healthy creation of nature, full of dozens of antioxidants, trace minerals and vitamins, without being burdened by pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
“Ryzes” rice was cultivated naturally, with the help of Effective Microorganisms (EM), without any use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers and without even of approved biological medication.
It was co cultivated and exchanged aromas with wild basil and the whole biodiversity of the area. In a live wetland!

The community of Helession refuses to conform with the “green revolution in agriculture”, which brought so many disasters upon man, and decides on the natural and organic cultivation of rice.
It argued with the use of permitted, chemical formulations approved by the Regulation of Organic Agriculture of the European Committee (E.C.), because the scientific committees of the E.C., pressured by the lobby of the pharmaceutical industries, approve chemicals, formulations and pesticides, “slightly” toxic for organic agriculture and production.
Helession votes in favor of natural organic agriculture and production, using only natural enhancers, such as animal dung, compost, active microorganisms (A.M.) etc.
We regard pests as our helpers, not as enemies of the basic cultivation and thus, we try to decrease their numbers with the method of early pseudo cultivation.
….Thus, we bravely fulfilled another goal, and we managed to stay faithful to our country’s traditions.
It tastes great with Greek Red Saffron. We suggest you add salt always last. Brown rice is suitable for every culinary use as it stays firm, while it keeps its aroma and taste.
Ryzes has not undergone disinsectization and must be kept in dry and cool places. It is a Organic Hellenic (Greek) Product of Natural Farming.
